Beware of the Core

Earthquakes and volcanoes are a reflection of the core of the Earth; and there's been a whole lot of action going on there. Yet I haven't heard even one scientist try to explain what is happening in terms of earth or space sciences.  Is it that there is a fear of the Consequence that someone might laugh?

Then there are the revolutions occurring in the Muslim core homelands of Southwest Asia and Northern Africa. Yet there are more commentators than you can count on the stars telling us why that's happening. I guess the Consequences for their actions are not nearly as severe...after all they are only soft scientists or not even scientists but information gathers. These people are certainly not journalists since no editors or assistants are checking the facts that support the hypothesis.  But that's the nature of the BL:OG:OSPHERE.

As individuals we mostly unaware of our own cores...the consequences of all the input we've ever experienced and the labels attached to them.
The perceived interesting and boring;
the perceived kindly and hurtful,
the perceived right and wrong.
We are only the integrations of all the parts that we experience through the senses that we use, whether the nervous system ones or those that live deep in our "sub" or "un"consequence recording and deciphering systems.

Getting the Basics

Waking up at 1 a.m. is no fun. It's a time when I think, "Gack, I should be deeply asleep for at least another 4 (four) hours. What curse am I living under?"

"Should I turn on the light and read? Should I get out of bed and turn on the computer? Should I lay and meditate? What would be best for the person who sleeps next to me and for the others who are sleeping in this house?"

It would be so much easier if I slept and lived alone, I wouldn't have to care about my partners' rest. I could just sit in bed and read, or get up work on my noisy projects. But I took on the originating relationship 25 years ago and the rest shortly thereafter and I'd like it to retain them into the future. It'd be so much easier just sleeping somewhere else, but where else? The couch?  Outdoors? I hate having to move from this physically comfortable zone!

Why can't I sleep through the night, what wakes me up? Why does my body do this?  Is this natural? There seems to be plenty of health literature on insomnia, but I don't want to add more man-made chemicals (athe usual solution) to my body to address what should be a natural process. But should I? Should I break the pattern with the meds and then would I get conditioned to need that substance? Gee, I just wish I could sleep. Sleep is so basic.

Truth and Trust

Interesting that Truth and Trust both start with the "tr" sound. Think about how the sound is formed by your mouth, you almost pucker for a kiss. Maybe that's where the connection about truth and relationships came. There is plenty of myth (and some 21st Century research) about kissing and how it can reveal an optimum mate for reproduction. Apparently someone who is vastly different genomphetically will taste delicious as interpreted by your personal taste sensors.

So the consequence of risking a kiss with a stranger is that you might become entranced by the truth of  their genes.

The next link in the truth to trust chain (and this is not the exercise of changing one letter at a time to create trust from truth) is one of verification of the truth. Although your genetic self might think the person is optimal, what is his or her attitude about, say: the National Debt? the winner of the Play-Off? the latest Fashion Week silhouettes? the most soothing environment? the hours of sleep a highly successful person needs?

Given the chance that people can and will prioritize among the topics above (and even reject some), their philosophical truth may be very foreign and possibly threatening. Fear does not equal trust.

Now you have a choice, to follow your genetic code or your ethical or your cultural or your opine code. Trust is built through mutual understanding and acceptance of The Truth (as your lived culture defines it) and if those personal codes are vastly different, expect distrust caused by recurrent misunderstanding.

So my view is that the Consequence of Truth and Trust is to create an awareness of differences and diversity and then to develop an appreciation of difference and diversity  in the face of Misunderstanding and Fear

The matter of consequence

Consequence...if one looks at the way this word is composed - the root and the prefix - you might notice the word sequence.  You probably know "sequence", means "the order in which elements of an event or process occur".  The prefix, "con", means together.
While it might be strange to consider the idea or concept of consequence from its component parts, then you might think further, "Well to me, CONSEQUENCE, means 'the order of elements depends on the existence of other elements in the set'."
That might sound mathematical, and it is. Fear not, mathematics is the friend that describes the world in terms of its measurable bits. Mathematicians and scientists are the arbiters who determine how those measurements are expressed and the relationships that the bits have with each other. We'll talk about relationships later.
Back to CONSEQUENCE. So to apply our definition you might think, "Eat ice cream, then get fat"; believing  you have shown understanding of CONSEQUENCE. Yes, you understand on the basic level.
Those with a more advanced notion of CONSEQUENCE and human biology also know it is more than just eating ice cream; it is consuming more ice cream calories than your metabolism burns that makes fat in your body.A mathematician would then use ">" in the statement and a scientist would say , "Eat ice cream>metabolism, then yield fat."  Such a statement describes a true relationship. More about truth later.
